To my fellow property owners and members of the association,

I'm writing to ask that we be told, before the upcoming election, about a decision that belongs to all of us.

A change is being made to how our community is managed. Associa McKay Management is being brought in to replace the team currently handling our property. That decision was made by the board and reportedly not meant to be shared with owners until it was final, so that no one would have a say in it. Left on that timeline, the first owners would hear about it is after the president's reelection, long after the point where it could be an issue anyone could act on.

Two things make that unacceptable.

First, this company is not a hospitality management company. It is a company management company, and that is not what our community needs. The team that handles our property now, Spectrum Resorts, is a well-known and respected company with five stars on every platform it's on. The people we know in that office, the ones who actually answer when something breaks, will all be gone. We are being handed a downgrade and told to be quiet about it.

Second, Lisa Hill, our president, is not being straight with any of us. She did not plan to tell owners about this decision until it was already done, which means she planned for us to have no voice in a choice that affects every one of us. If she is willing to hide this, she will keep on hiding things.

Associa McKay's own public record backs this up. Their employer profile sits at 1.7 stars. Resident reviews describe calls and emails unanswered for months, tickets closed with no resolution, streetlights dark for years, HOA funds depleted without explanation, utility bills paid late with the late fees passed to owners, a $509 charge to send a single letter to a closing attorney, and one owner paying close to $18,000 in a year for what they called very little positive action. Those reviews are public. Every owner should read them before voting.

We need to stop this as soon as possible, and we can. What I'm asking for:
1. Disclose the decision and any signed contract to all owners immediately, before the election.
2. Share the board minutes and the vote that authorized it.
3. Let owners weigh in before anything is finalized.

We pay for this community. We should not be finding out from a review page what was decided about it without us.

We love WestGate as it is, the family we have built and memories we have made. Please help us reverse this decision none of us agreed to.
